COMMUNITY ALERT: Shooting Off Campus Update
UPDATE to first Community Alert: Officers are searching the vicinity of 8700 block of Baltimore Ave for 3-5 males who were armed with rifles. The shooting occurred inside the building and the direction of travel for the suspects is still not known. No vehicle information is known at this time. Continue to avoid the area and follow police directions.

UMPD and PGPD Officers are on the scene of an off-campus shooting in the block of 8700 Baltimore Ave (inside the building) near Greenbelt Rd. At this time, there is no known direction of travel for the suspects. Please stay away from the area and follow police directions.

UMD ALERT: All Clear
An all clear has been issued for the incident that occurred in the 7200 block of Baltimore Ave. It appears that the suspect and the two males with him have left the area.
Officers from Prince George's County and the University of Maryland are still on the scene. High visibility patrols of the area will continue, but please notify the police if anything suspicious is observed.
The Prince George's County Police Department is conducting the investigation for this incident.

A person armed with a knife has been reported in the 7200 block of Baltimore Ave near Hartwick Rd. The suspect maybe wearing a yellow puffy coat and was last seen heading toward the Metro on Hardwick Road. Avoid the area and follow police directions.
